You, our wonderful FRA parents have done your part to get this new school year off to a good start! Each school in our academy provides a positive learning environment in which your children will have rich opportunities to grow and thrive this year. We appreciate all you have done over the last few weeks to prepare each student for a successful 2008-2009 school year. We know each FRA family has been transitioning from flip flops and shorts to dress code attire and from flexible summer hours to the daily routines that assure for a timely drop off and pick up at 4700 Franklin Road. From picnics, papers to sign, lockers to decorate, and fall activities starting up, this is a busy season. We greatly appreciate all you do that shows your on-going commitment to your sons' and daughters' development and to FRA. Meanwhile, our teachers have been attending in-service, preparing lessons and classrooms, and our fall coaches have already been busy all over campus. All FRA faculty and staff are thankful knowing that together we establish this positive learning environment and that by God’s design your children blossom in mind, body and spirit! Of course, Franklin Road Academy as an institution is always learning as well. You can be proud to be part of an educational organization that believes part of fulfilling its mission means always striving for excellence. FRA administrators are charged with overseeing the policies and protocol that come with inevitable changes and on-going growth. As leaders we appreciate your flexibility, understanding and participation in new incentives such as the FRA/Davis-Kidd system for buying books and resources that has been implemented this year. Those of you who choose to are welcome to give us your feedback using the survey that has been sent to your email address. Over the next week we will begin a quality control review in which we will evaluate and plan for improvements. As always, free feel to contact me directly any time with questions or comments you have about FRA curriculum design, professional development, or SAC/SAIS accreditation. Thanks again for all you have done to help us get ready. Throughout Franklin Road Academy there is excitement in the air as the new year of growth begins. ...Brenda Huff, Dean of Studies

As you may have noticed, FRA has hired a private security company to handle traffic duties in the morning and afternoon. This is in response to a notification by the Crossing Guard division of the Metropolitan Police Department which has withdrawn approval for the crossing guard at several independent schools, including FRA. The safety and security of our students is always our first concern; therefore, the private security company has been employed to ensure that traffic flow is safe for our students and their parents as they enter and exit our campus. We appreciate your understanding as the new traffic guard becomes acquainted with our FRA families!
