Information About the NCAA

Students who are interested in playing Division I or II sports, must fill out the online form at the NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse Website or call the NCAA Publications Hotline: 800-638-3731 and ask for a free copy of the Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete which contains the registration forms and an NCAA Clearinghouse brochure. These forms are also available in the college Counseling Office. Completed forms need to be returned to the Counseling Office.

To Participate in Division I or II Athletics

If you intend to participate in Division I or II athletics as a freshman, you must register and be certified by the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse. In order to be registered with the clearinghouse, you must register at (also available at this alternate site). You may also complete the student-release form and mail or fax the top (white) copy of the form to the clearinghouse along with the $30 registration fee. Give the yellow and pink copies of the form to the college counselors, who then send the yellow copy, along with an official copy of your high-school transcript, to the clearinghouse. FRA will keep the pink copy for its files. After graduation and before the school closes for the summer, FRA will send the clearinghouse a copy of your final transcript that confirms graduation from high school.
