FRA’s Response

Franklin Road Academy implemented its own writing program, which is offered to students in grades 7-10.

The writing program is taught in English classes once each nine-weeks grading period.

The program has been structured to resemble the SAT and ACT Writing Sections: a topic is selected by FRA’s English faculty, and students have 30 minutes to plan and write a rough draft essay.

The essays are not scored by the English faculty and are not counted in the overall grade for that nine-weeks. However, essays with mistakes will be discussed in class and may result in additional writing and/or grammar exercises during English classes.
