Welcome to the Upper School at Franklin Road Academy

Steve Harris - Upper School Dean

I want to extend my personal welcome to each of you from the faculty and staff of the Upper School. It is an honor and a privilege to work with your children each and every school day. It is our goal to make the four year high school experience a profitable and meaningful learning opportunity both in the classroom and in the other important phases of school life. I urge each of you to join with us in this endeavor.

The academic curriculum in the Upper School has been created to mirror the requirements necessary for admission to the top colleges and universities in the United States. With one hundred percent of our graduates continuing on for advanced education beyond our campus, it is vital that our students receive a thorough grounding in English, Mathematics, Foreign Language, History, the Natural Sciences, the Arts, Technology, and Physical Education along with the opportunity to choose elective courses in a variety of content areas. The twenty-four unit requirement for graduation ensures that FRA students have received the best education possible before moving on to their college years. The academic success of our graduates is the best indicator that the FRA program is working well.

One of the real strengths of Franklin Road Academy's Upper School is our extracurricular program. With opportunities in athletics, the fine arts, clubs and community service electives, our high school students involve themselves regularly above and beyond the school day. I want to encourage all of our students to look closely at the alternatives offered at the conclusion of the regular school day.

Realizing the significance of a positive home-school partnership on the success of your children, we welcome your input. I look forward to meeting and working with each of our families.

A positive home-school partnership is the single most important criterion in school success for children. We want to work with you for the benefit of your child. My door is always open to you, so please feel free to drop by at your convenience. Best wishes to each of you and may God bless your families.
