Boys Cross Country

2007 Season Review

The FRA Boys Cross Country Team finished up a very successful season with a third place finish at the regional meet, and a sixth place finish at the state meet.

Four runners were named All-District:  Nolan Davis (Senior), Josh Pickerel (Senior), John Adam McCaslin (Junior), and Jack Kaiser (Junior).
Three runners were All-Metro:  Josh Pickerel (Senior), John Adam McCaslin (Junior), and
Jack Kaiser (Junior).
Four runners named All-Region:  Nolan Davis (Senior), Josh Pickerel (Senior), John Adam McCaslin (Junior), and Jack Kaiser (Junior).
Two runners were All-State:  Josh Pickerel, with a personal best time of 16:57 and an eighth place finish, and Jack Kaiser with a time of 17:15 and a twelfth place finish.

Josh Pickerel was definitely the year’s surprise.  He was a first year runner who decided to run his senior year, and although he started the season on the varsity team, he definitely wasn’t the top runner.  In fact, he had a lot of ground to make up.  He accomplished this and more, finishing the year as our number one, running a sub-17:00 5K, and gaining an eighth place finish in the state meet.
