The FRA Varsity Wrestling Team won the A-AA Dual Match State Championship in 2005. For five years in a row, FRA has been the highest scoring “A” team in the individual state tournament.

Steve Padgett won the 1988 119 pound State Individual Title and FRA has had many other state medalists. In 2005 FRA also won the Region 6 tournament, which hosted 18 other teams including Overton High. The team has been recognized multiple times by the TSSAA for Distinguished Academic Honors and three individuals have been recognized nationally as Academic All-Americans. FRA wrestlers have gone on to participate in multiple divisions of the college ranks.
