Lower School Extended Day

FRA recognizes the unique problems facing working parents in securing quality care in the hours before and after school. Our philosophy is to provide fun and meaningful experiences far beyond the classroom. Students are supervised by trained and experienced staff members who will provide quality care for the students.

Extended Day begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. Students enrolled in this program are eligible to participate on early dismissal days, snow days, and school holidays. Full days and holidays require a minimum of twelve students to remain open.

Extended Day is a fun program committed to providing students a balanced life through arts, sports, and activities. We also include activities to develop and reinforce good character traits such as respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

Extended students have the perfect opportunity to have fun, learn, socialize, and develop compassion and concerns for others. After arriving, students are provided several choices of snacks while they socialize. Students participate in a variety of supervised, age-appropriate activities including organized gym games/sports, creative projects, cooking, trivia, and outdoor play. Homework supervision and assistance is provided by the Extended Day teachers. Students may also participate in after-school enrichments for a fee. Current enrichments include Pre Building Blocks, LEGO Robotics, dance, fiddle, keyboarding, piano, Mandarin Chinese, Wee Arts, clay, chess, karate, golf and songwriting.

Whether your child spends every day with us or drops in occasionally, we welcome you!

Middle School Extended Day

Middle School Extended Day program provides a supervised environment for students who need to remain on campus and are not involved in school sponsored activities. The Panther Den, located in the Upper School, offers a warm, home-like atmosphere provided with a sofa, fuzbol, television, board games, etc. A second room equipped with tables and chairs allows a quiet atmosphere for homework, reading, etc.

After arriving in the Panther Den at 3:15, students are provided several choices of snacks while they socialize. Around 3:30, the students are given a quiet time where they will study, read, or complete assignments. Following quiet time, students may choose from several activities including board games, brain teasers, crossword puzzles, socialization or an outside activity.

Gym time is also an option. The group often goes to on campus sporting events to watch their friends in FRA events.

Students are supervised by trained and experienced staff. We strive to provide quality care and fun for students who need to remain on campus and who are not in school-sponsored activities.
