Franklin Road Academy has a rich theatrical tradition which began with our first musical, Oliver. Each year, the upper school produces a play in the fall and a musical in the spring. Our middle school also offers a spring musical production as well. Grandparents Day is a highlight for lower school students.
FRA productions are performed in the 650 seat state-of-the-art Main Stage Theatre, complete with a three story fly-loft.
The programs of study are diverse. Students enjoy classes in Drama and Theatre Technology. To date, FRA Theatre Department students have received high accolades and continue to earn acceptance to competitive fine and performing arts college programs, many with demanding audition requirements. FRA graduates are currently acting and directing professionally; several are screenwriters and stage and lighting technicians. Additionally, alumni are studying and performing as instrumental music majors as college bands. A sampling of the outstanding colleges with drama, music, theatre and film programs which FRA students have attended over the past ten years includes:
- Auburn University
